3260   PAPUA NEW GUINEA. NBC Port Moresby - Madang. PNG pop songs and community anncts in Tok Pisin at 1002, fair to weak signal, June 23.

👍 3325   INDONESIA vs PAPUA NEW GUINEA. RRI - Palangkaraya. Long Indonesian talk at 1920, fair signal. Then NBC-Bougainville s/on at 1927 with a quick ID annct in Tok Pisin before launching into local music selections. NBC was much stronger than RRI on this occasion, June 20.

👍 3325   INDONESIA. RRI - Palangkaraya. Voice of Indonesia programming with English news at 1303, then a current affairs commentary at 1311. At 1316, “Today in History” program, with mention of 1942. Very bad local electrical “frying” noise here and a weakish signal made listening difficult. June 22.

3910   KOREA REP. Voice of the People - Kyonggi-do Koyang. Making it impressively through the jamming with Korean talks at 1017, good signal and similar quality on the // 3930. June 23.

3925   JAPAN. R. Nikkei - Nagara, Chiba Pref. Very happy and highly listenable jazz music program at 1024, fair to good signal, June 23.

👍 4774.9   PERU. R. Tarma - Tarma, Junín. A weak signal with Latin pop music programming and rapid-fire anncts at 1036. I struggle to hear the regular Latin stations there days. The noise is getting too high and their signals are much weaker than in the past. June 23.

👍 4750   CHINA. CNR 1- Hailar. VoChina programming with pop songs leading up to 1900 when full ID as "Zhongguo zhi Sheng Guangbo Diantai”. A few news items followed before suddenly the transmission ceased mid-sentence at 1903. I’m not an expert on China but some references list this as s/off 1805 and s/on again at 2025. But at 1900 nothing heard on the usual // 4800. June 20.

👍 4765   TAJIKISTAN. R. Tajikistan - Yangi Yul. Anncts in Tajik at 1847 then pop music programming with a distinct crossover between European Russian and Afghani/Pakistani musical styles. Interesting listening but a wobbly old signal on June 20.

👍 4810   ARMENIA. Armenian National R. - Yerevan. Arabic to ME at 1835 with a news program. A quick ID at 1838 then a commentary. Full ID, frequency and website annct at 1844, then a prompt s/off at 1845. Good signal, June 20.

4840   USA. WWCR - Nashville TN. No regular programming. Just a strange strong humming tone at 1045. Unusual! Checked back at 1102 and found a country music program underway. I think I preferred the hum!!  June 23.

👍 4845   BRAZIL. Quite possibly R. Cultural do Amazonas - Manaus AM. Very weak signal at 1050 with music programming to f/out 1105. Has the propagation characteristics of a northwestern Brazilian station with its later fade out compared with those stations on the coast. Reception from Brazilian stations has been particularly disappointing into southeastern Australia this DX season. June 23.

👍👍 4900   CHINA. Voice of Strait - Fuzhou. Seems to be on a new schedule these days with annoying light soppy pop songs and Amoy anncts at the earlier time of 1110, instead of the usual 1300. Also found it running the same programming on the // 4940. But no service at this time on 6115 nor 9505 kHz. So must be a new schedule. June 23.

4930   BOTSWANA. VoA - Moepeng Hill. Heavily accented talk program in English at 1830, fair signal, June 20.

👍 4965   ZAMBIA. VoHope Africa - Makeni Ranch. At 1825 with English anncts and US pop music programming to SAf. Fair signal, June 20.

5010   USA. AWR - Okeechobee FL. Spanish religious program beamed to Cuba with ID at 1115. Changes to Radio Eslovaquia (R. Slovakia) programming at 1130. Good signal, June 23.

👍 5875   ENGLAND. BBC - Woofferton. Arabic to EAf at 0315, weak signal but interesting LP reception at 1:15pm local here. June 16.

5920   USA. WHRI - Cypress Creek SC. True News programming at 0335, s/off noted at 0357, weak signal, June 16.

5975   GERMANY. AWR - Nauen. S/on 0400 with multi-language ID then into the Bulgarian service, fair signal, June 16.

5985   USA. R. Japan - Okeechobee FL. Spanish to SAm at 0405, fair signal, June 16.

👍👍 5985   ENGLAND. BBC - Woofferton. Annual Winter Solstice broadcast to BAS units in Antarctica. S/on 2130 with the usual good wishes and music. A fair signal here. S/off 2200 on June 21.

👍👍 6009.99   COLOMBIA. La Voz de tu Conciencia - Lomalinda, Puerto Lleras. Believed to be this at 0720 with long talks (preaching) in Spanish but I was unable to pick out an ID during 25 min of monitoring. Boy, what a wobbly old carrier this station has! Tuning in USB, I could hear the carrier wonder erratically between 6009.91 and 6009.99. Watching the carrier dip and bounce across a range of frequencies on the TWR Bonaire Kiwi SDR while listening to the de-tuned USB tone wobble on my own receiver gave me half an hour of fascination and mirth! June 23.

6020   ALBANIA. CRI - Cerrik. One of the few signals on the band at 0240 (12:40pm here), weak signal with the Mandarin service to ENAm, June 24.

6050   FRANCE. R. Algerienne - Issoudun. Arabic news to CAf at 0410, fair signal, June 24.

👍👍 6070   CANADA. CFRX - Toronto. Discussion/interview program at 0750, advert string at 0757, including one requesting blood donations. ID for the CFRB mediumwave outlet at 0800, then news highlights. A weak signal and difficult listening under an S6 local electrical hash here. BUT….always nice to hear it in our winter evenings.

6120   AUSTRIA. AWR - Moosbrunn. Turkish to WAs at 0415, fair signal, June 24.

7255   NIGERIA. VoNigeria - Abuja. Scheduled for French to WAf at this time and sounded like French, but it was a pretty weak and wobbly signal at 0705, mainly news reports, June 23.

7260   VATICAN. VoA - SM Galeria. Somali to EAf at s/on 0330, excellent signal, June 16.

7330   CUBA. R. Habana - Bejucal. Spanish to the Caribbean at 0305, a weak signal and not as strong as its neighbour Martí on 7335, June 24.

👍👍 7360   ASCENSION IS. BBC - Ascension. Annual Winter Solstice broadcast to BAS units in Antarctica. S/on 2130 with the usual good wishes and music. Barely audible here at the start and a gradual improvement to a weak signal towards the end of the broadcast. S/off 2200 on June 21.

7360   BULGARIA. BBC - Kostinbrod. Farsi to Iran at 0310, a fair signal, June 24.

7385   USA. WHRI - Cypress Creek SC. English at 0320, WHRI promo at 0327, into Russian at 0328, a weak signal on June 24.

7395   ROMANIA. RRI - Galbeni. Romanian service at 0105, fair signal, June 17.

9410   UZBEKISTAN. BBC - Tashkent. English WS news to SAs at 0110, good signal, June 17.

9490   FRANCE. R. Republica - Issoudun. Spanish to Cuba at 0115 with Cuban Son music, good signal June 17.

9510   UZBEKISTAN. BBC - Tashkent. Hindi service to SAs at 0125 with World Cup report, good signal until s/off at 0130, June 17.

9550   IRAN. VoIRI - Sirjan. Spanish to CAm at 0130 with iD, good signal, June 17.

9570   ALBANIA. CRI - Cerrik. English to ENAm at 0135, good signal, June 17.

9890   SINGAPORE. BBC - Kranji. Bangla service to SAs at 0145, fair signal, June 17.

👍👍 9925 GERMANY. Mighty KBC - Nauen. A very common station for you guys in the northern hemisphere, but not so for me! For most of the year, it doesn't propagate to the southeastern corner of Australia due to the lower frequencies they usually choose for their broadcasts. So winter on 9925 kHz gives us our best chance to catch this one. Beamed to NAm with the usual old pops and rock, good signal and great to hear it!!! June 17.
