On
Sunday Feb. 19, Kuwait’s Minister of Information Mohammad Al-Jabri inaugurated new
DAB+ digital radio stations in Al-Metlaa, located north of Kuwait City.
According
to reports, the minister said the launch of these services was part of a project that began a couple years ago and is motivated by the “New Kuwait” 2035 development strategy plan.
Kuwait had already initiated DAB+
digital radio broadcasts in 2014, when the country’s Sultan Telecom, a subsidiary of The Sultan Center Group of
companies, launched its first of two radio stations as part of an agreement
with the Ministry of Information.
