Uganda is the latest African nation to launch a DAB+ pilot project. On social media, Irene Kaggwa, Executive Director of Uganda Communications Commission, said the pilot was "to identify policy, regulatory & operational requirements to harness the technology in Uganda alongside FM, internet & satellite radio." The launch took place at UCC Headquarters in Bugolobi, with the pilot project running for one year. Speaking at the launch, WorldDAB's Project Director, Bernie O'Neill said: "Now is the perfect time for Uganda to commit to DAB+. We are excited to work with you and support your journey to digitise broadcast radio, ensuring the future of Uganda's vibrant radio industry."
